Sign up for our partner’s fantastic summer event: Rocky Mountain Sustainability Network (RMSSN) Summer Academy, May 23-June 1.
The Rocky Mountain Sustainability and Science Network (RMSSN) brings together federal and state agencies, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations to collaborate in research relevant to sustainability. The goal of RMSSN is to develop a diverse population of students into leaders ready to address emerging issues associated with sustainability, biodiversity and community engagement in the protection of natural resources. RMSSN provides students will experiences in team work, cultural resource management, taxonomy and natural resources management in the settings of National Parks and public lands. The RMSSN represents an effective multi-institutional collaboration in education and research, and develops a diverse mix of future leaders who are prepared to address sustainability, uncertainty and change on a global scale. RMSSN invites all future leaders to apply for its Summer Academy! This network is led by Mountain Sentinels collaborator Gillian Bowser, Colorado State University.
RMSSN was originally supported by the National Science Foundation, part of the Research Coordination Network: Undergraduate Biology Education series. In 2014, the Network converted to non-profit 501 (c) (3) status. in 2016 RMSSN/3dNaturalist was supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, Beacham O’Malley Trust and the National Park Service.
