The COP26 summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

  • Friday, 5 November 2021 at 18.30-19.45 (UK time) – Skomer (Multimedia Studio 2) and online
    “Sustainable mountain tourism and food systems to support recovery from COVID-19 in mountains”

    This side event will discuss the role of sustainable tourism and natural resource management for climate change adaptation in mountain regions. Speakers will present concrete experiences of mountain communities’ recovery from the COVID-19 crisis and recommendations for long-term sustainable recovery.
  • Thursday, 11 November 2021 at 13.15-14.30 (UK time) – Glen Affric (Multimedia Studio 3) and online
    “Climate change, mountains and the future of humanity”

    The event will focus on partnerships and collaboration for building back better from COVID-19 in mountains. It will focus on the role of multi-stakeholder platforms established by governments and NGOs to address issues of international significance.

 

  • Instituto de Montaña and Mountain Sentinels also have a virtual exhibit on the COP26 official platform.
