The University of Oregon is currently looking for PhD and MS students to join our lab in the Department of Geography. Students that are accepted will be fully-funded through teaching and/or research assistantships.
Our group(s) specialize in satellite and drone remote sensing of the cryosphere and northern hydrology. We have several ongoing projects primarily focused on the Arctic but are happy for students to design their own research projects. Group members have recently conducted fieldwork in Alaska and Greenland. We are developing a few field sites locally in the Oregon Cascades and anticipate more opportunities for fieldwork in the coming years.
Competitive applicants will have:
- strong written, verbal, and computational skills.
Desirable skills include:
- research experience in remote sensing, hydrology, or glaciology,
- proficiency in programming (e.g. Python, Matlab),
- and interests in cold places.
